Natuurlijk Zo

‘Natuurlijk Zo’ is an ecological gardener and garden designer. Having bootstrapped his company with a simple graphic style Tim, the gardener, asked me to design and illustrate elements that will make his website fall more in line with his philosophy of nature and people. I ended up making a series of illustrations as well as a logo and several banners for the pages on the website. click here to see it for yourself!

 

Process

A beautiful thing about this assignment was the freedom I was allowed to take in what I was to visualise. As long as it expresses organic-ness, the messy charm of ecological gardening and interesting subplots such as bugs, fungi, rot and other interesting things that are usually not seen as part of a garden, but are definitely happening and should be more visually present in our conception of what gardens and nature are. Having done a project on urban nature in early 2024 this was the first job in which I got to play with the stylistic and thematic matter of my work on that project.
