design case: Fluid Futures
Fluid Futures foundation asked me and several other talented friends & colleagues to make illustrated columns that were published in DUIC. (Utrecht Internet Courant, a local newspaper) I was let free on specific choice of narrative and subject, as long as it’s an interesting artistic take on the theme: Water!

On top of this page you can see the result as it was printed in the paper. A lot of reading and researching went into this piece - I’ve been looking at the history of how the Dutch landscape was shaped. How, in different times the people; from hunter-gatherers to late pre-industrial society; inhabiting this wet piece of Europe, would relate to the geography. This research ended up giving a view on the future, where the Netherlands are de-territorialized partially, salt water intruding on the Low Countries, slowly eroding the vacant cities and countryside. New ways of living in a tidal zone.
